How to choose the right resume template
A good resume is easy to read in under thirty seconds. Choose a layout that matches the job you want: a dark header or boxed sections suit corporate roles, a soft card layout suits internships and campus placements, and a bold or gradient header works well for creative and sales jobs. If you are unsure, start with a clean design such as Underline Pro or Sidebar Edge and change the colour later.
What to include in your resume
- Personal details: name, date of birth, address, phone number and email.
- Career objective: one or two lines about the kind of job you want.
- Education: exam, board or university, year of passing and marks.
- Experience: position, company, place and the months you worked there.
- Skills and languages: only the ones you can really use.
- Declaration: a short line confirming the information is correct.
Tips for freshers
If you have never worked before, tick the Fresher option and put your education, computer skills, projects and training first. Keep the objective short and specific, and avoid long paragraphs. A neat one-page resume with correct spellings is better than a long page with filler.
Length, photo and file format
One A4 page is ideal for freshers and up to two pages for experienced candidates. Add a passport-size photo only if the employer or your country expects one. Download the PDF so the layout stays the same on every device, and use a simple file name such as yourname-resume.pdf.
